Two women taken to hospital after car and horse and carriage crash in Eltham


Police were called at 7.44pm on Friday (August 11) to reports that a horse and carriage had collided with a car in Court Yard.

Emergency services attended, including the Met Police, London Ambulance Service, London’s Air Ambulance, and the London Fire Brigade.

Two women, aged in their 30s and 20s, who had been riding in the carriage were taken to hospital.

Their injuries were assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene.

There has been no arrests.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 19:44hrs on Friday, 11 August to reports that a horse and trap had collided with a car in Court Yard, SE9.

“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service, London’s Air Ambulance and the London Fire Brigade.

“Two women, aged in their 30s and 20s, who had been riding in the trap were taken to hospital.

“Their injuries were assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.

“The driver of the car stopped at the scene.

“There were no arrests.”
