Firefighters Battle Blaze on Mount Pearl Cul de Sac

Emergency crews raced to the scene of a house fire in Mount Pearl this afternoon.

The blaze broke out shortly after 2 o’clock on Easton Place, which backs onto Old Placentia Road alongside Smallwood Drive.

There, they were met with fire and smoke coming from the duplex.

Municipal police helped blocked access to the cul de sac as firefighters went to work and Newfoundland Power crews cut service to the house.

A fire captain gave the all-clear on two floors of the home after about 15 minutes, but it’s not clear if there were any other injuries.

It’s too early to say what may have sparked the blaze, but an investigation is under way.
