The Indian men’s cricket team will face Nepal in the quarter-finals at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of China on Tuesday.

The match will mark India’s debut in the men’s cricket at the Asian Games. The women, also playing their maiden continental meet at Hangzhou 2023, finished with a gold medal and the men, featuring Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rinku Singh, will look to follow suit.

Day 10 of the Asian Games 2023 will also be a critical one for Lovlina Borgohain. The current world champion and Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist will be in action in the women’s 75kg semi-finals and is just one win away from securing a quota for next year’s Paris 2024 Olympics.

Narender, who will be fighting in the men’s +92kg semis, can also obtain an Olympic quota for India on Tuesday if he can beat Kazakhstan’s Kamshybek Kunkabayev, a two-time world championships silver medallist and bronze winner from Tokyo 2020.

Sachin Siwach, meanwhile, will look to confirm a medal finish with a win in the men’s 57kg quarters. Preeti, who has already secured a medal and Olympic quota in the women’s 54kg, will be involved in a semi-final bout.

The Indian men’s kabaddi campaign at Asian Games 2023 also starts from Tuesday with Pawan Sehrawat and Co. playing Bangladesh in their opening group game.

In athletics events, all eyes will be on Vithya Ramraj in the women’s 400m hurdles. Vithya equalled PT Usha’s national record in the event after almost four decades during the heats at Hangzhou 2023.

PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy will also be in action in singles badminton events at the Asian Games 2023.

The Indian women’s hockey team will also feature in its final group game against Hong Kong China.
